E-rase Tattoo Removal
NON LASER TATTOO REMOVAL
Don’t let an unwanted or unsightly tattoo stop you
from wearing the clothes you want or stand in the
way of your career!

Are you fed up of wearing long sleeve shirts in the summer, or covering up when everyone else is stripping off?

Or perhaps your tattoo serves as an all too permanent reminder to an uncomfortable or unwanted memory?

Until recently getting an unwanted tattoo removed has been a daunting task, but now there is a revolutionary method of ink extraction developed in the USA to remove that tattoo quickly, easily and permanently.

The e-raze system works much like having the original tattoo, but instead of ink uses a specially formulated cream that bonds with the original tattoo ink and draws it to the skin surface. The cream doesn’t remain in the skin, or replace the tattoo and the treatment is so effective that a tattoo can usually be completely removed in four to eight sessions, compared to the dozens of treatments required by laser removal methods.
The extraction cream is specifically designed to blend with and capture the original tattoo ink. The formula then forms into a thicker substance which the skin easily pushes out taking the captured tattoo ink with it. A number of treatments are normally required to completely remove a tattoo. After the treatment course is finished the skin will return to its natural state over a period of months.
The benefits of the e-raze system over other methods of tattoo removal are numerous. The e-raze treatment is substantially less painful than other removal methods and the treatment course and subsequent tattoo removal is much faster and more effective than laser removal options. There is also no need to avoid direct sunlight after treatment, (as is necessary with laser) and aftercare is relatively simple.
The e-raze system is suitable and effective for all types of both professional or home made tattoos and permanent make-up on most areas of the body apart from sensitive areas near the eyes or areas where high levels of moisture occur (where special aftercare considerations may be required). The treatment is not colour selective (unlike laser) and acts on all colour pigments equally.

WHY LASER REMOVAL FAILS
Laser removal relies on using high energy pulses of light to smash the tattoo pigment into smaller particles so it may be absorbed by the body. The wavelengths of the laser light must be varied according to skin colour, what colour pigments are to be removed the type of ink used (there are over 120 different inks currently in use), and according to the depth of the tattoo.

Green and yellow are also difficult pigments for the lasers to eliminate due to the fact that they reflect most of the light energy, as all pigments can be traced back to the three primary colour's red, yellow and blue it becomes clear that while initially effective remaining pigment elements can be difficult if not impossible for lasers to totally eliminate.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does it hurt?
The treatment is very similar to being tattooed. Most clinics can apply topical anesthetic to numb the skin prior to treatment, please enquire about this at your chosen clinic.

How long does a treatment take?
A treatment takes around 45 to 60 minutes to cover a 2x2 inch square area.
What's in the removal cream?
The removal cream has been specifically developed for the purpose of removing tattoos by bonding with the tattoo ink and causing its expulsion from the body. Many of the ingredients can be found in food and cosmetic products. The ingredients in order of quantity are as follows Water, zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, n-propanol, TEA benzoic acid. Only a very small amount of cream is required per treatment typically less than 3-4ml most of which does not penetrate the skin, exposure is minimal and chemical concentrations in the cream present little or no risk. The treatment has been approved by various health and safety officers around the UK.

If you tattoo the removal cream in does this mean it gets left in the body rather than the tattoo?
No, the removal cream is designed to bond to and absorb the tattoo ink and extract the ink to the skin surface. It does not replace the tattoo and it does not remain in the skin. It is not a skin colored cover up tattoo.

How will I know if this treatment is suitable for me?
The treatment is suitable for most people, however a through consultation is carried out prior to any treatment. Generally if you have tolerated the original tattoo process then this treatment is very similar.

How many treatments will it take to remove my tattoo?
On average most tattoos can be removed in four to eight treatments depending on size and location. Very old tattoos may take extra treatment. We do not normally recommend treating a complete arm or leg band tattoo in one sitting but usually treat it in sections. We normally recommend that a maximum single area of two square inches is treated to minimise discomfort after treatment, If you require a larger area to be treated then please discuss this with your technician.

How frequently can I have the treatment?
It will generally take about two weeks from the initial treatment for most of the crusting to fall away, normally after around six to eight weeks the area is completely healed and can be re-treated.

How soon will I see the results?
The most amazing thing about this treatment is that you will actually get to see the results in just a few days. After the treatment a sterile dressing is applied which must be kept on and kept dry for 48 hours. After removing the dressing a good crust will form over the treated skin, as the crust falls away it will take the unwanted tattoo ink with it. It is likely that parts of the tattoo will be almost completely erased on just the first treatment.Your tattoo can be completely removed in just a matter of months, compared to years that it takes with laser.

Can I have this treatment if I've had laser treatment?
It is possible to treat tattoos that have previously undergone laser treatment, however the results can be less successful due to sub-dermal scar tissue left behind by the laser process, please call us to discuss. It is perfectly safe to have laser treatment on your tattoo after it has been treated with the e-raze system if necessary.

I have a home made tattoo, will this system work on that?
Yes, usually the ink in home made tattoos is less resilient than that used in professionally applied tattoos and can be removed very easily, however unlike professional tattoos ink depth can be very random which may make additional treatments necessary.

I have permanent make up, can this system remove that?
Yes this treatment will completely remove permanent make up, the only place its not suitable for is sensitive areas near the eyes, or where there is a risk of moisture contamination.

Can all pigments be removed?
Yes the process acts upon all pigments equally, unlike laser which is ineffective against certain pigments. The success rate of tattoo color removal is 100% for permanent makeup and over 92% for body tattoos, much higher than the success rate of laser treatment.*

Will it leave a permanent scar?
The removal process is well tolerated by the skin the scarring rate in a published series of 98 patients (Cosmetic Dermatology April, 2001) was 0% for permanent makeup and 6% for body tattoos (micro-scarring) compared to laser with a 5% chance that a permanent scar will form**. Usually if you did not suffer any complications when the tattoo was originally applied, do not suffer from keloids and the treated area is cared for properly then the risk of scarring should be minimal. If the original tattoo has been applied too deeply, (tattoo has become blurred) then attempted removal can be more liable to scarring. Please discuss this with your technician. It is recommended that a small trial area is tested first. It is also important to follow the after care instructions provided. We cannot guarantee that you will not scar as each client is individual.

Are there any lasting side effects?
There have been no lasting side effects documented arising out of the removal treatment. The area may be sore for around a week after treatment and following the final treatment the area may appear slightly redder however this should fade to the normal skin colour after a few months. None of the cases in the Cosmetic Dermatology April, 2001 study of 98 patients demonstrated destruction of the skin's natural pigment unlike laser where hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation can be more common. Any treatment involving trauma to the skin may cause pigmentation to occur or natural pigment to disappear although this is more common in african/asian skin types.

Do you guarantee complete tattoo removal?
No. Every individual tattoo is unique some will respond better than others to particular treatments. Therefore no guarantee can be made on the likely sucess of the treatment. The published success rate of tattoo color removal is 100% for permanent makeup and over 92% for body tattoos*, better than any other currently available tattoo removal technique.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Recommended Treatment Prices:
The following prices are for guidance only, prices are based on the areas given being solid blocks of colour, a firm price can be established upon sight of the tattoo. Prices may vary from your treatment centre and do not include any special offers or incentives.
Treatment costs start at: £50 for approx 1 square inch,
£100 for 2x1 inch,
£125 for 3x1 inch,
£150 for 2x2 or 4x1 inch and thereafter going up in multiples of £25 per square inch.
Prices include treatment for multiple
separate areas as long as all the treatments can be carried out at the same time, for example to remove multiple small tattoos across the knuckles of both hands would be £50.
If you have a very large tattoo that requires treatment, it is best to be treated in multiple small sections. Please call to discuss your requirements.
Large tattoos will have to be treated in sections to minimise discomfort. The top and bottom sections of this tattoo are treated. The centre area will be treated in 6 weeks time.

ONE TREATMENT CAN REMOVE A TATTOO

For one lucky client and just £50, a tattoo was completely removed in one session. The after photograph was taken 1 month after treatment, the skin should return to normal in around 3-6 months.
We must stress, every tattoo is different and will respond differently so the amount of treatments you will need cannot be assumed. Healing time will also vary from person to person and we cannot presuppose you will not scar.

We offer a free, private consultation where you can have the opportunity to look through our portfolio of before and after photo's.
